Leticia Carvalho

Leticia Carvalho is a Brazilian marine biologist and oceanographer who serves as the Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) since January 2025, becoming the first woman and first Latin American to hold this position. She previously worked with the United Nations Environment Programme and has over 25 years of experience in marine conservation and deep-sea mining governance.
