Jim Chalmers
Jim Chalmers is an Australian politician and the Treasurer of Australia in the Albanese Labor government, having been sworn in on May 23, 2022, and serving as the Federal Labor Member of Parliament for the Queensland division of Rankin since 2013. Born on March 2, 1978, and raised in working-class Brisbane, Chalmers holds a doctorate and previously served as Shadow Treasurer before his appointment to the Treasury portfolio, during which he has overseen Australia's economic policy and fiscal matters. A married father of three children (Leo, Annabel, and Jack) living with his wife Laura, Chalmers is a proud Logan native who is actively engaged in managing Australia's domestic and international economic priorities.
