Hung Cao

Hung Cao is the Acting Secretary of the U.S. Navy, a position he assumed in April 2026. A Vietnamese refugee who immigrated to the United States in 1975, Cao graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served as a Navy special operations and explosive ordnance disposal officer, deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia. He retired from active duty as a captain in 2021 and previously served as Under Secretary of the Navy and as a vice president at CACI International.
