David Shafer

David Shafer is an American Republican political strategist and attorney who served as the Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party from 2019 to 2023. He became a prominent and controversial figure after the 2020 presidential election, when he was indicted in August 2023 as part of the Fulton County, Georgia case related to alleged efforts to overturn the election results, including his role in organizing a slate of alternate electors. Shafer has been a long-time fixture in Georgia GOP politics, previously serving as state party chairman and as a delegate and party operative over multiple election cycles.
