Anthony H. Cordesman was an esteemed American national security analyst, holding the Arleigh A. Burke Chair in Strategy at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) until his passing in January 2024. He served in various government roles, including as national security assistant to Senator John McCain and director of intelligence assessment in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, while authoring over 50 books on military strategy and energy policy.
