Carlos Orense Azocar

Carlos Orense Azocar (“El Gordo”), a Venezuelan drug trafficker, led massive cocaine shipments to the U.S. since 2003 via ranches, bribes to officials, and military ties. Arrested in Italy 2021 and extradited 2022, he was convicted in 2023 and sentenced on January 13, 2026, to life plus 30 years in U.S. federal prison for importation conspiracy and weapons charges.
