Brandon Johnson

Brandon Johnson serves as Chicago's 57th mayor since May 2023, defeating Paul Vallas in a runoff election. The former Chicago Teachers Union organizer and Cook County commissioner campaigned on progressive policies including police reform and expanded social services. Johnson previously worked as a social studies teacher and community organizer before entering politics in 2018.
