Ahmed al-Sharaa

Ahmed al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Mohammed al-Golani, is the leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), a Syrian rebel group that controls much of northwestern Syria. Born around 1982, he founded the al-Nusra Front in 2012 before rebranding it as HTS in 2017. He has led recent rebel offensives against Syrian government forces.
