Ely Ratner

Ely Ratner serves as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs since 2021, overseeing U.S. defense policy across the region. Previously, he was executive vice president at the Center for a New American Security and deputy national security advisor to Vice President Joe Biden from 2015-2017. He holds a doctorate from George Washington University.
