Noma Chef René Redzepi Steps Down

Chef René Redzepi on Wednesday announced he will step away from Noma, his Copenhagen restaurant, after more than two decades of building and leading the establishment. He also resigned from the board of MAD, a nonprofit organization he founded in 2011.

This comes after The New York Times published a report detailing allegations from 35 former employees who described incidents of verbal and physical abuse at Noma between 2009 and 2017. Former employees accused Redzepi of punching staff, jabbing them with kitchen tools and subjecting them to public humiliation.
