Declining birth rates in the U.S., as well as in Europe, threaten societal stability, straining economies and social systems as aging populations outpace the young. Immigration, while a tempting fix, drives up housing costs, suppressing native fertility and creating unsustainable demographic shifts. This crisis demands urgent incentives for family formation, cultural revival valuing life and policies easing housing pressures to boost birth rates.
While lowering family costs, such as through child tax credits, affordable childcare, and universal pre-K, is undoubtedly part of the solution, it isn't everything. Despite hyperbolic statements from critics, immigration does drive growth, adding workers and innovation, as seen in the U.S.'s 0.1% population rise in 2021 compared to 62% from immigrants. Both strategies ensure a dynamic, sustainable society.
