The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

President Trump has no allegiances in this war, other than to bring the needless killing to a stop. Despite their differences, Trump is confident that both Russia and Ukraine want the war to end and that a solution that suits both will soon be found.

Pro-Ukraine narrative

Ukraine has fully supported the idea of a ceasefire since it was first suggested by Trump. However, his administration needs to understand this is going to be a long process after 12 years of war. Ukraine can't simply give up Crimea or give up its security by saying it won't join NATO. What will come after?

Pro-Russia narrative

Following talks with the Trump administration, Russia remains committed to the peace process and is ready to conclude negotiations. However, there is still some fine-tuning of the terms that need to be agreed.
