This preventable murder exposes France's deadly immigration failures. When someone under an expulsion order walks free and then commits an unfathomable act of violence, that’s not just tragedy, it’s system failure. The left-wing mantra of “welcome all, regulate later” has directly contributed to a culture of impunity where ordinary French families are left exposed. The government must immediately restore expulsion orders, tighten border controls and prioritize the safety of French children over ideological softness.
The murder of Lola Daviet is a profound tragedy that deserves empathy — not the instrumentalization of her death by extreme-right groups to stoke anti-immigrant sentiment. The focus should instead be on improving social support systems, strengthening child protection and ensuring all individuals — regardless of status — are subject to justice, without fueling xenophobic politics. With Benkired behind bars, it's time to respect Lola's family's wishes and stop exploiting her death for political gain.
