The Spin

Democratic narrative

This is yet another case of the Trump administration exacting political revenge on anyone who criticizes it. Coming on the heels of the administration suspending more than 100 staffers at the Environmental Protection Agency, it's no surprise that rather than taking the FEMA workers' warnings of a coming disaster, the administration instead decided to suspend them too.

Republican narrative

Whether they work at FEMA or any other government agency, workers should be on the same page as the administration and on board with the reforms that are being made to make these agencies more efficient. The suspended staffers, clearly embedded in the bureaucracy, were trying to impeded the significant improvements the administration is driving.
