- The legal team for US Pres. Biden's son, Hunter Biden, has sent a cease-and-desist letter to former Pres. Trump, accusing him of frequently using hostile comments about Hunter to defame him and potentially incite violence.
- The letter argued that "We are just one such social media message away from another incident," citing threats against other public figures Trump spoke about — including the attack on former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband and a man recently arrested outside former Pres. Obama's house who had guns in a van.
- Hunter's lawyers also cited Trump's recent post to Truth Social, referencing the cocaine found at the White House, in which he said, "Is it Crooked Joe and his wonderful son, Hunter?" After an 11-day investigation, the Secret Service did not find who the drugs belonged to.

Pro-Trump narrative
US intelligence agencies and the Dept. of Justice are wearing kid gloves with Hunter Biden while using every tool in their arsenal to go after Trump. The FBI still won't answer questions about their investigations into Trump, whether undercover federal agents helped instigate the Jan. 6 riots, or who authorized the FBI to portray Catholics as domestic terrorists. This is all happening, of course, as nothing is done to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden's corrupt connection to foreign governments.
Democratic narrative
Trump is simply trying to deflect attention away from his own legal troubles as he continues to clearly defame the Biden family to the most egregious levels possible. Hunter Biden has pleaded guilty to tax evasion and gun possession charges — Trump outrageously said this warrants the death penalty. Hunter Biden's legal team made the correct move in light of this toxic rhetoric.
